Hey folks--I don’t usually pimp my friends but I’m asking for your help this one time to help my wife win a free lap band procedure (bariatric surgery) worth $25,000. She is one of five finalists in a contest conducted by a group of local doctors who are donating their services in helping one (1) person with their weight. Only one will win the procedure. The winner will determined by the community through online voting.

I’d really appreciate it if you folks could spread the word by posting this in your journals also. Anyone who votes and help by posting in their journal and lets me know (send me a note with a link to your journal please) will get a three image feature in my next journal!

The winner will be announced November 15th and will also be followed in the media in all phases of the weight loss process--thus the reason for the contest so they have a ‘spokesperson’ and ‘test-case’ for the lap band procedure.

My wife--whose name is Audra--is the one wearing the yellow shirt. Click on the picture to read her story, but I will tell you what I know--she has struggled with weight issues all her life. I’ve seen her try many many diets and different ways of eating and living and failed every time. She is starting to have weight related health issues like sleep apnea (she currently has to use a CPAP machine to sleep at night), back and knee pain plus a host of other issues.

Usually, I’m not a big flag waver for the bariatric surgery crowd, but in my wife’s case I believe it is the only way she will ever be healthy. It will force her to do what she cannot do on her own and that is control and discipline in eating.

I love my wife very much--she has been a Godsend to me and I would like to live with her for a very very long time. Please help me in ensuring that will happen
